A blast from the past - better than ever! February 6, 2006

My 12 year-old son got this set for his birthday and our whole family has enjoyed playing it. The set itself is really well designed, with a special slot-together frame that holds the playing mat flat. You get a selection of Champions League players to build up your team (I think there is a random selection of players in each box) and they are actual named players, not the anonymous figures of years ago. You slot your selected players into the bases and off you go. The rules are presented on a poster and are pretty easy to follow. Once you get the hang of it it's surprisingly fast moving and you can play some amazing (flukey) shots. Lots of fun - and you get two whole teams for less than the price of a ticket to see a Premiership match!

Subbuteo is definitely back and rocking. The game of my childhood memories is better than ever with its new stadium and latest teams.

This is great football fun for the children and even better to bring back memories with friends over a few bottles!

Also, well worth checking out the online freekick game they currently have running on their Subbuteo Com site (http://www.hasbro.co.uk/subbuteo/freekick. Great fun.
