Old fashioned, but practical for babies who are yet to sleep through the night... November 27, 2008
Back in the 70's in New Zealand when I was a baby we always slept in night gowns regardless of our sex.

This gown with a drawstring in the bottom is very practical for numerous night feeds and nappy changes because it is much faster to undo the string in order to change a baby's nappy without groping around in the dark trying to do up poppers on stretch and grows. Having a drawstring is also warmer and prevents the gown from riding up.

This gown also has raglan sleeves which makes it easier to get a baby's arm in and out of as the opening of the sleeve is much larger than a set in sleeve.

The only criticism I have of this particular gown is that the drawstring is made of the same cotton jersey as the rest of the garment and it is not really slippery enough to draw up the string easily.
