Disappointing September 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very Disappointing, it's very flimsy and not well made the crystal is very large and chunky the overall design is awful. My Son however loves it and hasnt taken it off since he had it.
Hours and hours of entertainment May 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this outfit for my son as he had been invited to a Sportacus party. He wasn't such a fan beforehand, but now we have become Sportacus - even giving up chocolate for 'sports candy'... won't last long, I'm sure!
On the downside, the armbands keep falling off, which is frustrating for a little one, as do the moustaches, but I found eyeliner works much better for this anyway!!
We have insisted on wearing the whole outfit to the shops, the park, everywhere... Great entertainment and as long as you are prepared to put up with the song 50 times an hour, I'd go for it!
My 4yr old loves it! January 1, 2008 My son received this for his 4th birthday 2 months ago. He is a big Sportacus/Lazytown fan and loves dressing up, so I knew this set would be ideal.
I have just read the other reviews on here and I agree on the sizing. My son is well built and the vest fits him now ok, but there's not a lot of growing room in it. He can wear it over a long sleeve t-shirt. The armbands were far too tight but we had the electronic armbands already so he wears those instead. The hat fits fine and we haven't had a problem with the glasses falling off. Maybe my sons well built head keeps them wedged on nicely! The moustaches keep falling off but it doesn't bother my son too much - he just sticks it back on again. The belt buckle is not worth the bother to get it to fit on thick winter trousers.
My son loves the crystal and loves the music most of all so is always pushing the button to get it to the music. I used a safety pin to attach the bottom of the vest to my sons top and that stops it jumping about so much when he is (u have to tuck the top into trousers tho otherwise the weight of the crystal just pulls the top around too!)
All in all it has been the hit I had hoped it would be. My son wants to wear it most days and when we go out it always gets other kids noticing and pointing at it. And my son loves telling them that he's Sportacus!
Since they sell much better armbands seperately, I would rather they had included trousers with this set instead. I'm still on the lookout for royal blue joggers with a stripe down the side!!!
Cashing in October 11, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
As per the last reviewer. The goggles *just* stay on, the armbands are terrible and we either hold them on with hair bobbles or have resorted to our painted toilet rolls. The moustaches are also a constant frustration. The hat is fine as are the sounds and music. The crystal has cracked my boy in the face a few times when jumping around which is the whole point of Sportacus (jumping around that is, not smacking children in the face). Not sure how the picture shows the vest free-standing as it is flimsy. Anyway, our boy enjoyed it for an afternoon but its now on the bottom of the toy box and hasn't been mentioned for a couple of weeks not even for thuis afternoon's fancy dress party.
Badly designed and cheaply made August 27, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I can't believe this product actually made it to the market! Did they test it before it went into mass production? The armbands and the goggles won't stay on, the vest is made of a very thin material, which makes it all floppy, and the magic crystal is so bulky it could even cause a safety hazard when the kids are jumping around pretending to be Sportacus. The only thing that seems fairly adequate is the hat. They should have made it a lot better for this price. As it is, it's just a constant source of frustration for both the parents and the kids. Arrrgggh!
