For many years this was the best 1/48 scale Spitfire available.
Even if it lacks some of the details you get with Tamiya and Hasegawa kits
such as recessed panel lines, detailed cockpit, etc, this kit's enduring virtue is that it just looks right. It's also a fair bit cheaper than its competition and with a bit of work it can look just as good.
Fit is OK after some clean up and filler, although again, not quite as good as the dearer kits. You get windscreen, air filter and radiator options to build either a VB or a VB Tropical version, however, the decals aren't the best and should be replaced with after-market products.
The kit, with appropriate new parts, has also been released as a VC/Seafire and that kit is also worth a purchase.

Looks great when built.
Also purchased form emodels.co.uk very recommended for plastic model kits!
