Product Description
The Decepticons are inbound and seeking to destroy your music! Use Transformers Beatmix Bumblebee to amplify your MP3 player and transform your tunes! The Beatmix Bumblebee musical companion is the Transformers robot for your music. His built-in music speaker amplifies your music and a unique synchronising beat builder enables Bumblebee to dance to each new rhythm. In a twist of customized cool, Beatmix Bumblebee takes your tunes and plays them back to you with effects and sounds from the Transformers movie. Simply touch Bumblebee's Autobot symbol, situated on his chest, to record up to 60 seconds of music which can be played back on demand. Beatmix Bumblebee is also pre-programmed with a selection of dance moves, applying them whenever he has a beat played through him. Pose his arms and sit back to watch him dance to different sound effects. Transformers Movie Beatmix Bumblebee works with most music devices, connecting through any standard headphone jack (Jack-to-jack cable included). (MP3 Player / Portable music device not included.)

2 out of 5 stars Hmm...   December 29, 2007

Gosh, where to start?

My first gripe; he's noisy. Really noisy. Really, really, really noisy. The movements of Bumblebee's head, wings and waist are far too loud and can be heard over any music playing, even if the volume is cranked right up to the highest setting. This has put me off using him as a speaker altogether, as you can't stop him dancing unless you either play no music or play it so quietly that his sensors don't detect it (and you can't hear it either). Not a great start to be honest.

I've noticed his door wings come off really easily, too. Sure, the lights on his eyes, chest and back are nice (if a little on the so-bright-it-blinds-you-if-you-look-at-it side, though), but they don't make up for just how many flaws this product comes bundled with. The startup tune is not only annoying and too long but it's rather embarassing at times, the movement of the whole thing is horribly limited, and when Bumblebee records random voice clips and plays them back randomly when music is playing you just feel like leaping up and hurling the thing out of the nearest window.

If for some strange reason you find all the above attractive in a product, go ahead and buy and enjoy it. Otherwise, steer well clear.

1 out of 5 stars too noisy   December 25, 2007

Bought this primarily as a speaker for my boys mp3 player. the movement, lighting thing was just an added bonus. However as it turns out the movement is the loudest thing about this system. Every time its parts move (which is a lot of the time) it makes a electric whirring noise which is very loud so you cant hear the music!! very annoying, even my boy (who is 8 and also very annoying) is annoyed by this noise!! do not buy this as a speaker system.

4 out of 5 stars Stereo Bot   October 31, 2007

I bought 2 of these and split the stereo feed to mono L & R. I now have my monitor surrounded by bumblebee pumping out twice as lound as normal. This is a very good mp3 speaker and seems well made. Only down side is it could do with a little more base.
