This was the cheapest I found online. I find the lego baseboards to flimsy and easy to break so I no nail glued it to hardboard so my son doesn't snap it. If you have enthusiastic Lego users and Lego architects in your family, then you really can't have too many of these. Besides the obvious advantages of being able to build and firmly place 3-D environments that match the plan in the player's head, they also allow those who have to tidy up after their Lego fiends the ability to preserve half-finished items that will be worked on again soon by clicking them onto the base plate rather than piling them into a box only to have bits snap off. Less tears and frustration for all!

... it's also rather expensive for what it is.
That said, it is an essential item to have for any Lego set, especially if you have the "big box of bricks" - which is relatively cheap. It is a must for children to be able to make any decent 3-D construction (house, garage, castle etc.
My other criticism is that this is also rather flimsy and flexible and has to be supported on a flat surface (table top or floor). Lego seem to have a policy of selling basic brick very cheaply but making some of the other parts much more expensive.

It does what it says on the tin it's a bigger than normal lego baseplate which was great value for money. My only complaint is it wasn't green which might make more sense when using a lego city set but you can't go wrong here. Reasonable price good large size fits lots of created lego structures well. You won't be sorry you got this if your kids are into lego!
