 Amazing fun with friends August 20, 2010

We bought this game a few months ago and it has been absolutely fantastic. We have played it with two friends and a large group of family members. They are all going out to buy it as well now. You can be as ruthless as you want or as kind as you want to other players it doesn't matter in this game it all adds to the fun. I gave it a 3 star durability only because it is a board game and would not be suitable for younger players left on their own. There are quite a few small parts as well which can easily go missing if not looked after well. I would highly recommend this to everyone as it is fun in small or large groups and the expansion ability makes it a worthwhile present for growing families and friendship circles. I know you will enjoy this game.

Having come back from an excellent holiday where I played this game a couple of times with my brother and nephews, I can say that this game was a great bonding experience - it is really good fun and it is not dominated by luck - skill is needed in terms of placing and strategy - the fact that the board changes each time is an added plus.

A great game, rather expensive for the build quality (printed card and a couple of cheap dice).
I bought this as I was told that if you enjoy RISK you'll love this. Partially true, there is a far greater element of luck in this game and everything can change in a couple of turns. Nevertheless a well structured game that has the added bonus of having everyone playing to the final roll. (unlike RISK, Monopoly etc).

Settlers of Catan is fun, challenging and family-friendly. I'm a big fan of games like Monopoly and Risk, but Settlers of Catan beats them all in terms of overall enjoyment and pace. The box, board and all pieces are very high quality, and it is clear that this game is made by people who love quality gaming experiences. I heartedly recommend Settlers of Catan.
