I love my netbook and use it all the time, it is just so darn convenient to pick it up (in one hand) switch it on and start surfing within seconds. I still have the original Linux installed and think it is probably the ideal operating system for it as I cannot imagine that XP is in any way optimised for the hardware. It is not perfect and like the previous reviewer I am not impressed with the battery life although unlike him I get about 1.5 hours with the wi-fi on surfing the web and can just about watch a full movie. Video playback quality is very good, music playback quality is very good, the webcam is good enough and the preinstalled software is way more than I need in a netbook. What more can you ask for 200? I highly recommend this little machine and would have no hesitation buying another, just leave it with Linux to get the best from it.

I used to own the Eee 701, but sold it when I bought an iPhone and realised that all the web browsing I used to do on the Eee I was doing on the iPhone. I really liked the 701, but it wasn't worth keeping.
So, when it came time to go on a business trip to New York, I borrowed the company Eee 901, thinking it would be perfect. I was sorely disappointed. We have windows installed on our 901. It came with Linux, but we changed it.
The main disappointment is the poor battery life. I was getting 45mins when actually working (ie scrolling round pages, typing etc with wifi on) and when I was just watching a film with no wifi or interaction I got an hour out of the battery and this is with the brightness right down. It's next to useless without a power source.
The next big disappointment is the hard drive(s). It's meant to have a 16gb SSD, but what it actually has is a 4GB SSD and a 12GB SSD. The 4GB drive is quick and responsive so it's decent quality, but the 12GB is incredibly slow and unresponsive. It took me 20 mins to copy a 700mb film from an external hard drive onto the 12GB SSD. Far too slow to be of any real use. "So use the 4GB drive" you're thinking... unfortunately with Windows and a couple of programs on the drive there's only 200mb of space left. Useless.
My advise would be to buy the Acer One!
