A big hit! November 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The V-Tech Kiddizoom camera was bought as a present for my four year old daughter. The camera is very easy to use - within about two minutes of the Kiddizoom being out of the box she was snapping away happily, taking photos of parents, siblings and lots of the cat. The camera is certainly robust; it has been dropped on a number of occasions and has suffered no ill effects whatsoever.
The camera is well designed for little hands, and the menu screens and additional functionality (such as games, memory manager) are easy to access and intuitive. The picture quality is fair, but it should be noted there is no zoom function and there can be some significant shutter lag. As such the Kiddizoom should be seen more as a fun introduction to photography, rather than a full blown operational camera. The camera comes with all the cables, software etc that you need to transfer pictures you want to keep to your PC or to print photos. The Kiddizoom has a number of fun functions - you can overlay comedy noses, devil horns or animations onto your pictures and the additional games also keep little ones occupied for long periods of time. Overall I would recommend the Kiddizoom as a fun way for children to take photos - so they won't want to play around with the more expensive (and fragile) cameras you have around the house. It might not capture the highest quality images, but certainly fulfils the manufacturer's claims to be "ultra-tough and easy to use".
Vtech Kidizoom: Multimedia Digital Camera Pink November 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughter for christmas and thought I had better set it up and see how it works. To use is easy but the pictures are of very poor quality and unless I had all the lights on the flash was no good. I didnt like this camera at all and have returned it and have now purchased the Fisher Price one.
Realistic Honest Review November 3, 2008 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I got this camera for my niece for xmas and to be on the safe side I thought that I would try it out before wrapping it. I used the camera for an afternoon and i think that it is absolutely brilliant especially for kids who couldnt care what 8 megapixels and optical zoom is. Granted the pictures are not up to the same standard as a proper digital camera but when you display the pictures on a tv using the av cables supplied they look really good and its got a lot of quirky little features. This is a great camera for KIDS , dont expect David Bailey quality from it as thats not what its made for - its made for FUN and I for one think that its exactly that and would give it six stars if i could ! BRILLIANT !!!
FUN TIMES!! October 7, 2008 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
Got this camera for my niece on her birthday, she loved it and takes pictures at any given oppurtunity, she took it on a family holiday and ended up taking the best pictures out of the lot of us. Real good value for money and with some nifty games and the cool pink colour she loved it. think i may get one for myself :P
Big Disappointment August 26, 2008 90 out of 96 found this review helpful
Perhaps I bought the only Vtech camera that wasn't working properly, who knows I can only speak from experience. So whenever you receive this camera, please print out your pictures and test the camera out before Christmas day, unfortunately, I did neither. Yes, it was fun for them to use initially, I don't deny that. We had to purchase a memory card because the memory on the camera wasn't good, neither was clarity of the still or moving image and the flash was less than good and to top it all, the picture quality was exceptionally poor when printed out so two rather disappointed children. So this year I won't have two disappointed children instead I will be opting for a more shockproof/waterproof camera like an Olympus, whose picture quality will be accurate and what they see will be what they get.
