 A great, compact set November 10, 2008
My little boy loves this set. He is only 2 so struggles to put the track together himself, but it takes no time at all so I don't mind tackling that part. The great thing for me about this set is that it is so compact and all the track pieces and several trains can be stored inside.
Like many, we could do with some more track pieces with the set so they can be easily joined to other sets, but I suppose Learning Curve want you to go out and buy the extra track separately.
All in all a good toy and after 6 months of play it still hasn't broken!

My son is 4 and has lots of Take Along sets and he loves them. The sets all join up together to make the Island of Sodor. You can buy extra track, bridges and tunnels etc. The track did change last year but there are adapters that you get in the new sets to join them up so don't worry that they won't fit together - they will. For a compete Thomas addict like my son these are the perfect toy!

We got this for my son as a Xmas pezzie. We shopped around for the best price - i don't think we bought it from Amazon in the end.
My son is 3/4 and is able to open it up, build the track and put it all away independandtly. There is enough room inside for the track once you've figured it out. There is enough room for 6-7 trains depending on their size (although they do have to be the metal Take Along Thomas ones).
I would recommend this toy, it seems durable, capable of holding children's attention and just generally a good toy.
So far I've not been able to find any extra track peices for it, I'm not even sure if they make them. I'm thinking of buying another set, although take care when deciding this as not all those take along thomas sets are compatable, the Sodor mining one does not fit with the take along thomas track as I've just discoverd in Toyrus. So double check before you buy.
