The bright illustrations replicate perfectly the Thomas we all know and love from books and the TV, and as youngsters turn each page they are presented with a new activity or a new page from a story. Using the "magic pen" on the First LeapPad, pre-schoolers are encouraged to match shapes, find opposites, identify colours and shapes, match pairs, identify patterns and much more, with Thomas and friends. When they get to the end of the book, they simply turn it around, and start to read the Thomas and the School Trip story, following it word for word, again with the pen.

Sturdy, wipe-clean and visually appealing, the book is the perfect compliment for youngsters who have mastered the book included with the First LeapPad unit. It brings a fresh, innovative and interactive approach to learning traditional, basic skills with the help of a childhood favourite. Pre-schoolers (the book is aimed at children of three years and over) will love to help Percy at the dock, or hurry back with Thomas so he can pick up the children, and they won't even know they're learning. The voice samples are in a British accent which I think is worth pointing out as some of the other interactive books are in an American accent.

My daughter who is two received this book for christmas and has played with it everyday since! She has learnt her numbers(1-5), shapes, colours and can follow simple commands from the book. I would highly reccommend this book.
