My daughter likes it September 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter just had one of these for her 8th birthday and she says it's her favorite present (ahead of an MP3 player, Indy Jones DS game & a digi camera). She's not got the voice activated things working yet but doesn't care. Personally, there doesn't seem too much to it but it's not my opinion that counts.
Considering buying? Read on... August 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read about other buyers' frustrations and thought to myself: I've been using voice-recognition hardware/software for years - I'm sure I can help my daughter make this thing work well for her.
So it arrived, we unpacked it and inserted batteries. Then the fun ended. To cut a long story short, it's almost impossible to use features such as setting the date/time/alarm. As for the main purpose of the product - keeping the owner's diary/nick-nacks secret... well, once she had set the password up she could open it on about 1 in 4 attempts. However, if her BROTHER found out what the password was, he could open it on about 1 in 2 attempts. It is a crock. Save your money. Don't buy. It is trash.
AWFUL DO NOT BUY August 17, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Very, very disappointing. Bought this for my daughter's 9th birthday - it was the one gift she really, really wanted after seeing the (misleading) adverts - she wanted the grown up security to have something private from her two younger sisters. A big let down that spoilt her day - the voice recognition just DOES NOT WORK (for her, me, my husband) so it just keeps repeating the same annoying phrase then switching itself off. However, IF we could get it to work, it would be irrelevant as you just press the access button and it opens anyway! The special light that can "only be operated by you" can be turned on by anyone with a switch once you've opened the diary with the access button. NO intruder alert sounds. Even our four year old realised that this meant it would not be a secret diary! Lastly, apart from all the above, the actual diary itself is a disappointment as once opened it just consists of a few sheets of blank paper glued to a back plate, so even if the features we bought it for worked, it is very limiting. Save your money. I would rate this NO STARS but it wouldn't let me.
password journal 5 is the best April 16, 2008 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
password journal 5 is so cool. It's so fun and it is really girly you will love it. There is so much stuff you can do in it and it does what it tells you to do and it recognises my voice. The only thing that bothers me is the price: no i would not give it 10/10 for the price but it still is so cool. You will love it and it will keep you busy all day.
Beware - Do not buy!! February 7, 2008 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this Journal for my 9 year old daughter at Christmas. It does not work at all!! There is no voice recognition and the doors kept coming off!!! My advice to you all is to return it as i did and get a refund (which i was able to do without any difficulty as it doesn't do what it says!!).
