 Plays MORE than one song! February 10, 2008

The first train we had only played the one song- until it drove us all nearly demented (the American voice grates a bit). Then one day we heard a snatch of another song and found out ours was defective. Amazon swapped it no problem- got the new one before we sent the broken one back. Now it plays a selection of songs and sounds.
You can set it to move and the baby chases it across the room. Or you can turn the movement off. The animals are lovely and chunky, and their heads click when you turn them. It's our daughter's most played with toy.

I was a bit dubious about this at first as my then 8 month old got this as a Christmas present as I wasn't sure what he could do with it but he loves it! He loves crawling after it as it choo choos along and he loves it even more when it's chugging towards him! He also likes derailing it and pulling the animals off. It comes with a giraffe, an elephant and a monkey which are good toys in themselves and I'm going to buy him some more animals for it for his birthday.

I got this for my 9 month old twins for Christmas and they have been fascinated by it and my 3 year old son loves it too! Its very colourful and the animals are appealing too. Its chunky enough to withstand some baby battering and l can separate the carriages so my twins can each have a part to play with. Highly recommend.

This is a great toy, our son loved it. One day I was playing with it with him, and pressing the button that makes the different animal sounds. They are pretty recognizable, lion, bird, etc... then there is a sound that is very distinctive, and does not sound like any particular animal... in fact it is a very distinctive laugh... from a very famous Star Wars villian. If you have this toy, check it out, if not, it is worth a trip to the store just to hear it. I don't know who was in charge of creating the toy, but bravo for sneaking that in!
